If you see something good, SAY something good!
June 16, 2015WORD OF THE DAY
Think about it: Are you holding on to your COMPLIMENTS? Give them freely! Your COMPLIMENT could be the encouragement that person needs to take that leap of faith. It can be that oneWORD that can change their life. So, if you see something good, SAY something good!
BEHIND THE WORD
Are you holding on to your COMPLIMENTS? Are you the person that sees someone do something you admire or wished you could do but you remain silent never giving them a COMPLIMENT? Don't! We should be encouraging one another as much as we can. You know how it feels when you are tethering on uncertainty, when you don't know if you are going in the right direction or if you are doing a good job but then someone pays you a COMPLIMENT about that exact issue you were battling with. It puts that pep back in your step it gives you the reassurance that you are on the right track. So let's do that for one another. Let's agree to say something good when we see something good!
I was prompted to post this word after paying a compliment to a friend. In her response to me she thanked me for the "encouragement." I thought to myself, that is what a COMPLIMENT is, it is encouragement to the recipient. It is not for the benefit of the giver, it benefits the receiver. I wonder if that is why we don't give COMPLIMENTS as freely as we express criticism. Why does it seem easier to express criticism than to provide a COMPLIMENT? Does criticism make us feel better? Feel superior? Are we bred to see the negative before the positive? Is it because we live in a society that breeds competition more than community? I don't know! But, what I do know is that we should encourage one another! So if you see something good, SAY something good!
PEACE!
